Gastronomic attractions
Traveling and eating well have everything to do with Paraty, which has been a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network since 2017 as a city of gastronomy. Exploring its culinary culture is a great option for those visiting during the rainy season.
The Historic Center boasts the largest number of restaurants in the city. Dishes from almost every corner of the world are prepared in charming, aromatic restaurants, with the highest level of craftsmanship and a touch of caiçara cuisine.
For those traveling by car, another great option is to indulge your heart and appetite with traditional quilombola food. Quilombo do Campinho is located on Rio Santos, towards Ubatuba, just over 10 km from the city junction. Besides the food, visit the quilombola flour and crafts house.
Across the Santos River, heading toward Angra dos Reis, Toca do Pastel is also convenient for food lovers. The modest setting boasts a spectacular view and the surprisingly high-quality pastries, crisp and richly stuffed. The Nutella pastry is a highlight!
Along the Jabaquara and Pontal waterfront, there are several kiosks offering excellent drinks and local dishes. Balacco Bacco, in Jabaquara, and Lapinha, in Pontal, provide comfort and well-being on any inclement weather day.
For more discerning palates, head to Fazenda Bananal, a restaurant that offers sustainable cuisine, agroecological production, and ingredients harvested directly from the garden to your table. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on weekends from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., they also serve breakfast.
