The main questions for those going to Paraty
WHAT IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT PARATY?
Paraty is worth visiting at any time,
Each season has its advantages. Summer, for example, is very hot and the seawater is warmer, but it's also the rainiest season.
In autumn and winter it rains less, we have more beautiful days and the city is emptier but it is a little cold.
HOW LONG IS IT RECOMMENDED TO STAY IN PARATY TO GET TO KNOW THE CITY WELL?
We recommend at least 3 to 4 days to enjoy the city's main attractions.
But as we have many cool attractions, the longer the better.
It's quite common to spend a week or more and leave without having seen everything.
IS IT NECESSARY TO BOOK TOURS IN ADVANCE?
While not mandatory, it's recommended to book tours in advance, especially during peak season and holidays, to ensure availability. During these peak periods, spots often fill up days in advance.
WHAT IS THE BEST AREA TO STAY?
If you are coming without a car, we recommend staying near the Historic Center to be close to restaurants, shops, the tourist pier (where boat tours depart), the bus station and be able to do everything on foot.
But if you're coming by car, you can stay further away without any problems, after all, everything is very close by car in Paraty.
WHAT IS THE WEATHER FORECAST FOR A CERTAIN PERIOD?
This is certainly the most frequently asked question whenever we open a question box on Instagram .
We have access to the same websites and forecasts as you do. We check Climatempo, the iPhone weather app, and the Yr.no website. However, the weather in Paraty is very unstable; forecasts are frequently wrong and constantly changing, and are only reliable one or two days in advance.
CAN I BRING MY PET TO PARATY AND ON THE BOAT TOURS?
Yes, many hotels and inns in Paraty are pet-friendly, but it is recommended to check the policy of each establishment.
Some of our tours are also pet-friendly, such as private tours and schooner tours.
IS THERE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IN PARATY?
Yes, Paraty has public transportation, with buses connecting the historic center to other areas of the city. Taxis are also available; ride-hailing services are rarely available.
WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO EXPLORE THE HISTORIC CENTER?
The best way to explore Paraty's charming historic center is on foot. The streets are cobblestone and closed to cars, allowing visitors to appreciate the colonial architecture and local shops.
We recommend wearing comfortable shoes with good grip.
IS PARATY A SAFE CITY FOR TOURISTS?
Yes, Paraty is considered a safe city for tourists. However, as with any destination, it's always important to keep an eye on your belongings and avoid isolated areas at night.
